A Festival Unlike Any Other
Presented by the Sacramento Jazz Education Foundation, the Teagarden Jazz Festival is the only scholastic jazz festival dedicated exclusively to early jazz combo performances. This festival is all about keeping traditional jazz alive by inspiring and educating the next generation of jazz musicians.
This year’s event will feature:
🎶 29 school and community youth jazz combos, each bringing their own energy and passion to the stage.
🎺 Expert feedback from professional jazz musicians, helping students grow their skills.
🎤 Lunchtime Jam Session, where young musicians can jump in and improvise in true jazz fashion.
🎺 A special afternoon workshop with guest clinician Gunhild Carling—a jazz powerhouse who plays trombone, trumpet, bagpipes, and more! Watch her bring the house down with her virtuosic talent and infectious energy.
🎵 Evening Clinicians Concert, where top festival clinicians and guest artists come together for an unforgettable live performance.
A Jazz Education Experience Like No Other
Not only does the festival celebrate amazing performances, but it also supports young musicians in a meaningful way. Nearly $15,000 in scholarships will be awarded to talented students, helping them continue their journey in jazz and music education.
